The Excerpta is a Domesday satellite text
from St Augustine's, Canterbury, compiled in or before 1087. It is
probably derived from materials compiled during the early stages of the
Domesday Inquest. For more detail, see An eleventh century inquisition of St. Augustine's, Canterbury, edited by Adolphus Ballard (1920); and F.F. Kreisler, Domesday Monachorum reconsidered: studies in the genesis of Domesday Book and its relationship to its sources and 'satellites' (1967). See also Domesday Monachorum. |
