K

A capital K in the margin of the manuscript is there to draw attention to disputed ownership. The K is an abbreviation for the Latin word Kalumpnia or Calumpnia, meaning claim. With a single exception, it occurs only in circuit 6, in the counties of Derby, Huntingdon and Lincoln.
